Respite care is a short stay for someone who needs support. It gives family carers time to rest or attend to other responsibilities, while making sure the person they care for is safe, comfortable and well looked after.

We offer different types of care depending on the person’s age, needs and what they want from daily life.
For younger adults with a learning disability and/or physical disability, Camellia Court provides specialist support in a small, purpose-built setting via a referral through Central Bedfordshire Council.
For older people, we offer respite in our care homes, including Marigold House and Honeysuckle House. These homes provide 24-hour support, good food, activities, company and a safe place to live well. We’re also able to provide specialist dementia care to individuals during their stay.
With stays ranging from 2 weeks, our respite care services are flexible and will fit around your needs. Many of our short-term residents return to us on a recurring basis, offering regular respite for caregivers.
From the moment someone arrives, our team will introduce themselves, get to know their routines, and help them feel settled.
During their stay, they will have their own room with an en-suite bathroom, access to communal spaces, three freshly prepared meals a day, and the chance to take part in activities if they want to.
At Camellia Court, we also have specialist equipment to support people with physical disabilities, including a trampoline and a multi-sensory room. This helps us provide care that is practical, comfortable and shaped around each person’s needs.
