Residential Care

A home in the heart of local life.

Our residential care homes are warm, welcoming communities where older people can feel safe, settled and supported every day.

Based in Leighton Buzzard and Flitwick, our homes are part of the communities around them. Residents are supported to stay connected with local life, and we welcome families, friends, schools, groups and neighbours into the home.

Every resident comes to us with different needs, routines, interests and hopes for the future. We take time to understand what matters to them, then build the right care around them, with 24-hour support, good food, comfortable rooms, activities, company and a strong sense of belonging.

Residential Care

What is Residential Care?

Residential care is long-term care and support for older people who need help with daily life and the reassurance of staff available day and night.

It can include support with washing, dressing, meals, medication, mobility, personal care and keeping safe. It also means having company, activities, freshly cooked meals, comfortable spaces and people around who know each resident well.

At Care is Central, residential care is built around the individual. We take time to understand each person’s routines, choices, interests and needs, so care feels personal, consistent and part of everyday life.

Residential Care

Who is it for?

Residential care is for older people who would benefit from support throughout the day and night, but who do not need nursing care.

It may be right for someone who is finding daily life harder to manage at home, needs help with personal care, meals, medication or mobility, or would feel safer with staff nearby. It can also be a good choice for people who have become isolated, are losing confidence, or need time to recover and settle after a fall, illness or hospital stay.

At Care is Central, residential care is also about family. When the right support is in place, visits can become less about worry and more about spending proper time together. Families remain closely involved, but they are not carrying everything alone.

If you are unsure whether residential care is the right option, we will talk it through with you honestly. There is no pressure and no obligation. You can call us, ask questions, or arrange a visit to see the home for yourself.

Residential Care

How we support our residents

We support people to feel safe, settled and known from the moment they join us.

Before someone moves in, we take time to understand their care needs, routines, family, interests and what helps them feel at home. That becomes a support plan built around the person.

Once they are living with us, our teams provide 24-hour support with personal care, meals, medication, mobility, wellbeing and daily life. Care is delivered by consistent staff who know residents well, so people see familiar faces and feel safe, understood and at home.

It is practical, personal care, delivered with consistency, kindness and respect.

TESTIMONIALS

What people say about us...

Our carers are a godsend – they help me as well as care for my husband. They are like family. They pick up on everything and try to make life fun.

Maureen

Family member at All Saints View

Our carers go that extra mile for my father and, as he is deaf and poor of sight, that makes such a difference. Good care is vital for him at 93 years and we are grateful for the service the carers give him.

The important questions

Can we visit before deciding?

Yes. We encourage it. The best way to get a feel for a home is to come in, meet the team and see daily life for yourself. You are welcome to book a visit, ask questions and bring family or friends with you. There is no pressure.

What happens when someone moves in?

We take time to help each person settle properly. Before they arrive, we learn as much as we can about their care needs, routines, likes, dislikes and what helps them feel comfortable. In the first few weeks, our team will spend time getting to know them, introducing familiar faces and helping them find their own rhythm. Families and friends are welcome from day one.

What funding and support is available?

Residential care can be funded in different ways, depending on a person’s needs, finances and circumstances. Some people pay privately. Others may be eligible for support from their local council following a care needs assessment and financial assessment. We can talk you through the basics, explain what questions to ask, and point you towards the right local authority advice.
